Launched in 2026, ReSound Sensia™ MicroRIE introduces ReSound’s latest AI platform in one of its smallest rechargeable receiver-in-ear designs. Sensia has been developed around one of the biggest everyday challenges for people with hearing loss: understanding the person they want to hear in busy, noisy environments without losing their connection to the sounds around them. ReSound describes Sensia as its smallest AI hearing aid, combining this discreet MicroRIE format with all-day rechargeable power, Bluetooth® LE Audio, and Auracast™ connectivity.

The new approach at the very heart of ReSound Sensia rests on intelligent sound processing built around three technologies: AcoustIQ™, advanced 4-microphone beamforming, and DNN denoising. Rather than simply enhancing the loudest voice in the room, these technologies work together to identify the listening environment, focus toward the person you are facing and reduce distracting background noise.

Intelligent All-Around brings all three technologies together automatically — but importantly, this fully automatic AI experience is exclusive to Sensia 9 in the rechargeable MicroRIE range. AcoustIQ™ continuously analyses the environment and automatically decides when the advanced directional and DNN features are needed, meaning Sensia 9 can move between listening situations without requiring you to change programs manually. ReSound reports that AcoustIQ™ achieves 91% environmental classification accuracy and significantly improved feature engagement compared with competing premium solutions.

The Sensia 7 also gives access to ReSound’s DNN-based noise reduction, but through a dedicated listening program rather than the fully automatic Intelligent All-Around system available on level 9. This makes Sensia 7 a powerful option for users who want AI-supported speech clarity in challenging noise while being comfortable selecting the appropriate program when needed.

Another key part of Sensia’s speech-in-noise performance is its binaural 4-microphone beamforming. When two compatible hearing aids are worn together, the microphones in both devices coordinate to create a narrow forward-facing listening beam. By simply looking toward the person you want to hear, the system can focus more precisely on their speech. A single Sensia hearing aid still provides its full individual hearing support, while this particular binaural benefit becomes available when a pair is fitted. ReSound reports a 13% improvement in signal-to-noise ratio with its latest 4-microphone beamformer compared with the previous technology.

Despite all this technology, Sensia remains particularly discreet. Its rechargeable MicroRIE design keeps the hearing aid small behind the ear, while the SureFit 3 receiver system places the speaker discreetly inside the ear canal.

Sensia is also designed for active everyday use. Its IP68-rated construction and protective nano-coating provide resistance against dust, moisture and sweat — particularly useful in warm climates, during exercise or for users who spend significant time outdoors. The official technical documentation confirms an IP68 rating for the Sensia range.

ReSound Sensia™ 5 – Comfort Line
Sensia 5 brings ReSound’s latest sound-classification technology and advanced directional processing to everyday listening. With 12 processing channels, AcoustIQ™ continuously analyses the environment so the hearing aids can adapt naturally as listening conditions change. Its 4-microphone directional technology is also available when a binaural fitting is used.

ReSound Sensia™ 7 – Advantage Line
Sensia 7 increases processing to 14 channels and provides more advanced speech-in-noise support. It includes access to DNN-based noise reduction through a dedicated program, allowing users to activate stronger AI noise management when entering particularly challenging listening environments.

ReSound Sensia™ 9 – Excellence Line
Sensia 9 is the flagship version with 17 processing channels and the complete Intelligent All-Around experience. AcoustIQ™, 4-microphone beamforming and automatic DNN denoising work together automatically, providing ReSound’s most advanced support for understanding the person you want to hear in complex noise.
